The release is the first of many slated for the HBA over the next week. From interviews with individual planters to other promotional pieces for NortheastChurchPlanting.com, we are grateful just to be involved if even in this small way. Special thanks to Sean Pierce for his vision for the project, and for the Missouri Baptists, who support not only this work but much, much much more in the region.

Mission | Toronto | Canada: Mission Team Training with Dan Collison It’s context. It’s culture. It’s Canada. Welcome to “Mission | Toronto | Canada: Mission Team Training with Dan Collison,” a resource for everyone interested in the contextualization of the Gospel for different cultures; and especially for those involved in or considering a partnership in Greater-Toronto. Join your host Dan Collison as he and his fellow pastors prepare your teams to be effective for Christ in this, one of the most strategic and most diverse regions in North America. Produced by the Northeast Church Planting Coalition for the Office of Great Commission Partnerships of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, this four-part video series takes a look inside 1) Canada, 2) Toronto, 3) Church Planting, and 4) a posture called F.L.U.I.D. Each of the 20-minute sessions is designed to be viewed in order, but may also be useful as a stand-alone training. Special thanks to Mike Sowers and Chuck Reigster of the BSCNC, and to Dan Collison and all of the faithful friends in Canada who made this project possible; Andrew Lamme, Brett Porter, Greg Alexander, Seba Vasquez, Robin Vasti, Daniel Smith, Jarret Hamilton, Tim Heerebout, Jason McGibbon, Ken Wiliams, Sath Arulvarathan, Darryl Weinberg, Rudy Geronimo, Ken Stravens and Arnold Wong. Session No. 1 – Canada: Holy Poutine. It’s a Whole Different Country It’s just a short ride across the river, but this where Baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie turns into Hockey, Tim Hortons and poutine. Things may look very similar, but mission teams will need to know a few things before crossing the border. Click on the image to the left to launch the video in a Lightbox. If you have any problems, click here. Session No. 2 – Toronto: Understanding the Most Diverse City in the World From the city of Toronto, where 52 percent of the residents are immigrants, to the GTA and the rest of the Golden Horseshoe, Southern Ontario is home to 11 million people; roughly a third of the Canadian population. Who are they? And how should mission teams think about the city? Click on the image to the left to launch the video in a Lightbox. If you have any problems, click here. Session No. 3 – Church Planting: Creating Christian Community with the Never-Churched Praise the Lord, Toronto Church Planting Network has grown to meet the needs of a growing Toronto. Check in with Dan and a host of planters as they discuss different types of church plants geared for reaching all types of people. Click on the image to the left to launch the video in a Lightbox.
CERIC CJEllis was honored to be able to cover the End-of-the-Year Party in Boston this past November 30, 2012. Thanks to Joe Souza and his heart for the planters God has called to this time and this place in Boston. God is on the move in Boston. Will you help us? Published on BostonChurchPlanting.com, December 23, 2012 Click above to launch video. VIDEO: Boston catalyst focuses on family during Christmas WATERTOWN, MA – Church planting in Boston is a family affair. Praise the Lord the family is growing, as more then 200 planters, wives and kids were in attendance for the third-annual Boston Church Planting End-of-the-Year Party on November 30, 2012 in Watertown. “This is what we are all about,” said pastor / planter Tom Cabral from Fall River, MA. “We drove like an hour and a half to be here. It’s great to be with the guys. It’s great for our wives to get together. And it’s great for the kids.” It was a great time for everyone involved. The kids all received early Christmas presents compliments of Steve Nerger and the Baptist Convention of New England. And the pastors, apprentices, staff members and their wives, compliments of Micah Millican and the North American Mission Board, all received gift cards as just a small token of gratitude for their steadfast work in one of the least reached areas in North America. Yet, for all the great food, fellowship, great music and gifts. nothing compares with family. Boston Church Planters have got each other’s backs, and their families’ too. “This is just something we feel we should do,” said Joe Souza, NAMB Lead Catalyst for the area. “We want our planters to know if you come to Boston, you will never be alone. And Christmas is just the perfect time to love on our guys, their wives, their families and their kids. It’s just awesome what God is doing here in Boston. “Three years ago, we may have had 25 people at this event. And just look at the way God is growing our family. I am very, very humbled and amazed by the whole thing.” Amazing indeed. As the kids were grabbing for toys it was Souza, Master of Ceremonies, introducing the band from his own Celebration Church in Saugus, MA. And earlier it was Souza’s wife Patricia, and his sister Anna, with the help of Bree Cobb from the BCNE, serving up all the food. Still earlier, all of their kids got in on the action putting out tablecloths and setting up. And to think just nine years ago the Souzas were not even in Boston. Neither were most of the families present at the dinner. Souza made light of this fact recognizing the “grandfather” in the room, Curtis Cook, lead planter from Hope Fellowship which was planted in Cambridge, MA in 2003. Other old-timers included James Thomasson who planted in Taunton, MA in 2006. Since that time no fewer than two dozen planters from all over the world have...

NACP Partnerships: Supporting Church Planting & Reaching the Lost in the Northeast and Toronto Planting new churches is the most effective way to reach the lost – and there are more than 60 million people in the Northeast and Toronto who are living and dying right now without Christ Boe and Connie Ellis through a ministry called North American Church Planting Partnerships are supporting Southern Baptist church planters and church planting leaders by providing a catalytic, church planting need – that because of the lack of churches in these areas, there just isn’t local funding for. We invite you to expand the mission of your church, your organization and your family by partnering with us. You can adopt a planter, a church plant, a city or the whole region. Your prayers, your teams, and your financial giving through the Metro-New York Baptist Association and the Baptist Convention of New England will not just support our ministry but it will underwrite the work that we are giving away to planters who are not equipped to tell their stories and create new partnerships. Thank you for helping us help them reach their neighborhoods and the nations. nacppartnerships.com/partnerships

NEW YORK – CERICDigital and Boe Ellis are pleased to roll out today in partnership with George Russ of the the Metro New York Baptist Association and Steve Allen of the North American Mission Board the new NYCChurchPLanting.net. Geared especially as a resource for connecting future planters to the world’s most strategic metro-area, Ellis says the site will bring together the best of two worlds. First, Steve Allen’s influence and input as NAMB’s Lead Church Planting Catalyst for the Tri-State Church Planting team will give the site an insider’s look into the world of becoming a planter in the Metro-NYC area. And second, George Russ’s perspective as a local association leader will bring to the site a local flavor and a day-to-day, on-the-ground presence. Though the site is still undergoing a major development / re-development, the team felt like there was enough of the story there now to go ahead and flip the switch and make the site live. “I love it,” Allen said. “I love the new look and especially the way we have created a simple navigation for both planters and partners to find their way around. I look forward to this site representing us well and growing in the coming years.”

Boe Ellis and CERICDigital CJEllis are pleased to announce today the release of our first video entirely in Spanish. ¡Ven a Oaxaca! – It’s a call for native Mexicans to come and live and study at the Dr. G.H. Lacy Baptist Theological Seminary in, you guessed it, Oaxaca, Mexico. Tucked neatly into the country’s historic south-central mountains, the city Oaxaca is home for IMB missionary, Tom Dyson. Serving now as Interim Director of the 75 year-old seminary, Dyson says the greatest challenge is not creating a great place to train the indigenous missionaries and pastors of Mexico, but finding ways to spread the word about the seminary to Mexicans all over the country. We hope this video will help. It was shot and produced in May, 2012 with support from our firm, CERICDigital CJEllis, the IMB and the Center for Great Commission Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Visit www.seminariolacy.org for more information. ¡Ven a Oaxaca!
